The first edition of “Original Works Collections” series selects new wind works by outstanding Japanese composers.
Recently, many Japanese composers are being performed at the All Japan Band Competition. “SHARAKU”, highly acclaimed at the 2003 AJBA competition national finals, was recorded for the first time. In addition, this CD presents diverse repertoire including “The Improving Dance” by the remarkable young composer Daisuke Shimizu, and “Jeanne d’Arc” by Takamasa Sakai and more.
These works were performed by the leading Japanese ensemble “Japan Ground Self Defense Force Central Band”. We know it is worth hearing just for the performance.
