Neagari Junior High School Symphonic Band-one of the leading school bands in Japan-is followed for 6 months as it recruits and trains new students and prepares them for festival excellence. Section leaders practice advanced leadership skills to rapidly blend new players into the existing ensemble sound, emphasizing full note ranges, large sound, precise tuning and temporal accuracy. A unique "behind the scenes" view of an outstanding band club.
