Detail
This 3 three-part scene was added to Verdi’s special Paris debut for lightness and vitality. Bold, full-voiced and powerful, while still attentive to the composer’s design. A technical challenge which works well for an advanced symphonic band with fearless clarinets.

■About Composer :Eiji Suzuki
Born in Tokyo in 1965, Suzuki graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, majoring in Composition. While at the university he studied with Yoshio Mamiya and Masao Endo, earning the Antaku Prize. Suzuki has produced many effective works for junior high, high school and community bands that capture the true essence of the wind band world and are heard frequently at contests and concerts. He has been honored as producer of ceremonies of the National Athletic Meet in Ishikawa and Yamagata states. He also established “Atelier M” with composer Toshio Mashima; a successful effort to present fine quality wind orchestra music.
At present, Eiji Suzuki is one of the busiest and most prolific composers in Japan. In addition to his many popular transcriptions and arrangements, Suzuki’s favorite original works include “Morning Stars”, “Song and Dance”, “Chorale for Festival”, “AWAKENING”, and “The Fete of Light”, in memory of Kiyoshi Watanabe.
